Microneedling in Orpington, Kent

For my microneedling treatments I use the SkinPen® Precision system. It’s the first microneedling device in the world to be cleared by the FDA, and globally ISO and BSI accredited.

SkinPen is clinically proven to reduce the appearance of acne scarring and wrinkles in as little as three treatments. It can also have significant positive results on melasma, rosacea, scarring from surgery, irregular skin tone, stretch marks, and dull and tired looking skin. The process itself is very hygienic - the pen is ultrasonically sealed and uses disposable cartridges to ensure no cross contamination between clients.

Microneedling works by creating thousands of micro injuries to the skin. These tiny injuries encourage the body’s natural wound healing process. This process results in the formation and remodelling of Collagen, which supports the underlying tissue.

You can find out more about the SkinPen® Precision system on their website

Frequently Asked Questions

What is microneedling?

Microneedling is a skin rejuvenation treatment that uses tiny, controlled micro-injuries to stimulate your body's natural healing response. This process encourages the production of collagen and elastin, helping to improve skin texture, firmness, and overall skin quality. At Sarah King Aesthetics, treatments are performed using the FDA-cleared SkinPen® Precision system.

What skin concerns can microneedling help with?

Microneedling can improve a variety of skin concerns, including acne scarring, fine lines and wrinkles, enlarged pores, pigmentation, rosacea, stretch marks, surgical scars, and uneven skin tone. It is also an excellent treatment for improving overall skin texture and radiance.

Is microneedling painful?

Most clients find microneedling very tolerable. A topical numbing cream is applied before treatment to minimise discomfort, ensuring the procedure is as comfortable as possible. You will also receive a comprehensive aftercare pack to support the healing process.

How many microneedling treatments will I need?

Many clients notice visible improvements after their first treatment, but a course of three sessions is often recommended for optimal results, particularly when treating acne scars, pigmentation, or signs of ageing. Your personalised treatment plan will be discussed during your consultation.

What is the recovery time after microneedling?

Downtime is minimal. Most clients experience redness similar to mild sunburn for 24–48 hours after treatment. The skin may feel slightly tight or sensitive during the healing process, but normal activities can usually be resumed quickly.

How do I make a booking?

Booking your appointment is simple. If you are a new client, we recommend booking an initial consultation first. You can make a booking online via the website's booking page, email Sarah at sarah@sarahkingaesthetics.co.uk, or call 07515 915191 for assistance and advice on the most suitable treatment options.
